Despite the climate crisis, Infrastructure Minister Andreas Carlson (KD) calls on the municipalities to have a more aviation-friendly travel policy for their employees.
– The municipalities have a big responsibility here, he says, considering that the regional airports are suffering multimillion-dollar losses and declining passenger numbers.
The Minister of Infrastructure’s statement, in which he highlights Östersund as a positive example where the municipality supports the airport, is controversial and provokes reactions.
– We are in the middle of a climate crisis, that is not a responsible statement, says Beatrice Rindevall, chairman of the Nature Conservation Association.
Andreas Carlsson has previously said that the aviation scandal must be removed, but is now taking another step in his call to the municipalities.
